About me
I am an impact-driven UX designer based in Pittsburgh, PA, aspiring to create joyful experiences and efficient products for users. Also a cat mom 😻 and world traveler ✈️
With over three years of hands-on experience with the Pittsburgh Penguins and a solid educational foundation in Informatics, I’ve built a robust skill set in UX design and digital media management. Currently, I am applying these skills in a contract position with Between the Sheets Inc., where I manage all social media platforms and work on enhancing the UX of their website.
My tenure with the Penguins involved significant responsibilities that highlighted my UX abilities. I refined the creative layout of the Penguins app, managed real-time Instagram content during games, and led the training of interns on website maintenance. A pivotal achievement was leading the complete overhaul of the Penguins’ website using a new CMS. Despite the tight deadline and unfamiliar system, my team and I successfully redesigned the site, significantly improving its usability and visual appeal.
My academic background in Informatics provided a comprehensive understanding of technology and its application. Courses in Basics of Coding, Social Informatics, and Intro to Human-Computer Interaction Design laid a strong foundation for my UX skills. A notable project during my senior Capstone class involved developing an iOS and Android app for a local restaurant. Navigating challenges posed by Covid-19, my team delivered a successful app, showcasing our ability to tackle complex UX problems.
Additionally, my “Semester at Sea” program broadened my perspective on global media and culture, enriching my approach to UX design. Studying media’s role across different countries in the Media in Society class deepened my understanding of diverse user experiences.
Combining my practical experience, educational background, and global insights, I am committed to delivering exceptional UX solutions and innovative digital strategies in my current role and future endeavors.
